Sundays: Deluxe Vinyasa and Yoga Nidra

Our Sunday Vinyasa yoga class is a 75 minute flowing class followed by optional, and  free of charge, Yoga Nidra (20 to 30 minutes guided deep relaxation and tuning).
Our Sunday sessions have become a noted weekly event in Cape Town yoga.

update: Yoga Nidra after class will resume from mid January.

Anandmurti Gurumaa defines yoga nidra as a state of conscious deep sleep. One appears to be sleeping but the unconscious mind is functioning at a deeper level: it is sleep with a trace of deep awareness. In normal sleep we lose track of our self but in yoga nidra, while consciousness of the world is dim and relaxation is deep, there remains an inward lucidity and experiences may be absorbed to be recalled later. Since yoga nidra involves an aimless and effortless relaxation it is often held to be best practised with an experienced yoga teacher who verbally delivers instructions.
Our Yoga Nidra is given by Philippe Brawerman who has extensive international experience as a yoga teacher and teacher instructor.
Philippe travels extensively and brings his knowledge and experience to share with yoga in Cape Town.

There are some weeks in the year when Philippe is out of Cape Town and hence there will be no yoga Nidra on those Sundays.
See our schedule page for updates on this.
